We've heard it so many times before 'we are the body of Christ'. But what does that really mean? In 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 we read all about the body of Christ. The apostle Paul explains this really well; as the body, we are unified into one. But, how, you say? Look at the Church today, it's so divided, and so many denominations. How are we unified? Well, the truth is secure, and we all have the Head of the body, which is Christ. We might not be able to see the unity, but it is there. The problem is that when we take matters into our own hands (which we often do) there are divisions. That is our earthly nature. The body is not groups put together, but one in itself, and this cannot be divided or broken.
Because we are part of one body, we need to also support each other. That is especially through prayer. Often, when we pray, we pray for people that we are in fellowship with, and that is good. But what about others? Those who in your town are also members of the body of Christ, or those in different countries that you might not know. We are all members in one body, and so we can support each other.
