Many thanks again to my friend who is letting me use some of her resources to write this post.
Prayer is important to the believer, as it's our communication line with God (as is the Bible). Prayer is any approach to God with words. 'Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour' 1 Timothy 2:1-3. We need prayer to develop in our relationship with God, as we do with our friends. If I don't speak with my friend for a long time, I start to miss her very much, and this should be the same in our relationship with God. Most of us will speak with our friends every day, be it by text or by speaking. This should be the same when we speak with God: it should be every day.
We can let our Father know all the thoughts that are in our hearts. You might say 'I thought he already knows my thoughts?' This is true, but our Father loves His children to share our thoughts with Him. This is relationship. Again, my friend may know that I am upset, but she will want me to tell her as well.
