'Now it was so that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.' (Luke 2:46).
Most people know this story pretty well. We can learn a lot from it, as I learned at a recent conference. In order to grow spiritually, we need to attend the meetings, conferences etc, otherwise there is no way that we would be able to grow. Of course, then, in the meetings, we need to listen and take on board what is said. This can be difficult, especially if there is something more interesting on our minds or we're with our friends and we can pass notes. Tackle the problem at it's root. If you talk with your friends, sit somewhere else. If your mind just wanders, try taking notes so that you can concentrate better. Find what is best for you to listen in the meeting. The Lord also asked the scholars questions. Don't be afraid to ask questions (some things can be really difficult to understand, so ask someone later to explain in an easier way). You can also ask the Lord questions, and He will answer you.
