Quiet times

So, I hope that we will be back with regular posts now. It's been a busy summer. It makes me think, do we sometimes spend too much time on doing other things and our quiet times take less priority?
I was reading a book that says that we should not only have a dedicated time for our quiet time, but also a dedicated place. You see, I used to always have my quiet times in my bed, which I have to tell you, really isn't a good idea! It made me feel so tired so I would rush my quiet time. This isn't what should be happening. So I moved where I had my quiet times to by the window in my chair. And the difference was amazing! I stayed awake and really benefited from my quiet time. You can't be talking with your friends and not really be concentrating. Firstly, not being focused on what the other person is saying wouldn't make you a good friend. And secondly, you won't be benefiting from that person's company. It's the same with the Lord and with your quiet times.'But you, when you pray, enter into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly.' Matthew 6:6. Make your quiet time something that is beneficial to your spiritual life that is regular and something that you look forward to.
