Humility since creation
We read in Genesis ch2 that man was formed of the 'dust of the ground' (v7). Doesn't that show us that we should be humble; we were made of the dust, and we also know that we will return to dust (Genesis 3:19). But we also read that God breathed in man to give him life (v7). That is what makes us so special compared to the rest of creation; we have the breath of God that gave us life. This puts us in such a special place, but we must also have the humility of remembering where we came from. The dust of the ground.

Psalm 139
Psalm 139:1 'O Lord, You have searched me and known me'.
Psalm 139 is a psalm known for talking about God's perfect knowledge of man. It's amazing to think that the Lord knows everything about us and is always with us. And this is the point that we need to always remember. The Lord is always with us, and where we go and what we do needs to reflect this. Is where you are going somewhere that the Lord would be? Are you doing something that the Lord would want you to do? Consider that.

Quiet times
'Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.' Mark 1:35
Focus on the 'long while before daylight'. That's usually when we are sleeping. Sleep. Something everyone loves. But how about getting up that little bit earlier in the morning to spend time with the Lord. There are so many aspects of the Lord's life that we can apply to ours, especially when it comes to prayer. Jesus rose very early and went alone to pray. Just Him and the Father. Somewhere with no distractions so that He could spend time with God. I'm not saying to go to a mountain for your quiet time, but go somewhere with no distractions so that you can spend some quality time with God.

Esther
Did you know that in the book of Esther, God is not mentioned at all? But we are all able to see His mighty Hand behind the scenes protecting His people. We have the same God today and He is able to do mighty things although we may not see or recognize it. When Gladys Aylward, a missionary in China, had to cross the Yellow River with about a hundred children, she felt that there was no way to go. One of the boys in her care reminded her of when God helped Moses to cross the Red Sea. 'God never changes' said the boy. We can have the same faith as the child in the story of Gladys. We have the same great God.

Ecclesiastes 9:10
One of my favourite verses is Ecclesiastes 9:10 'Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.'
Why is it my favourite? Well, you know all those motivational videos you always get on places like YouTube etc? They're always saying stuff like "you're worth it" or "what are you waiting for?!" Here you have an actual command in the Bible to do all your work to the best of your ability! And not only that, you have Colossians 3:23 that says 'whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men'. What more do you need? Do all your work for the Lord and this should be motivation enough to get everything done! And to the best. If it is for the Lord, we should do it the best that we can because He deserves the glory and honour.

Baptism
I was so happy yesterday because my friend got baptised. It was so good that she took that decision, but more importantly, she did something that the Lord wanted her to do. Remember the story about Philip and the Ethiopian? He said 'What hinders me from being baptised?' Acts 8:26. Hinders= stops. What is stopping you from being baptised? It's something that the Lord wants you to do. So why not?

Prayer- Hannah
Read Samuel ch 1.
Prayer is the attitude of dependence, and we can see that Hannah was dependent on the Lord. She left her problem with Him, and she didn't take it back. She wasn't sad anymore after she had prayed. Sometimes we pray, and then take the burden back and worry again about it. We can't do that! We have to be fully dependent on the Lord. Often, we take it back because we want to 'help' answer our own prayer. What can we do? Our efforts are nothing compared to the Lord's ability. Leave everything in His hands.
